Articles The Journey of the Life Purpose We are born into a world of what may seem to be confusion with lots of voices willing to tell us Blocks to Life Purpose Challenges may come to us as we grow up in our society and family systems however that can The childhood phases we pass through as we age---where ideally we learn a sense of competence and confidence in ourselves---may be marred by family problems of addictions, crisis, or be very dysfunctional in other ways. Many of us learn that the last consideration is to love and accept ourselves unconditionally and we become much more concerned about what other people think or say about us. In other words, we become dependent on others for our sense of self and their approval for our sense of being OK. Truly, we learn to live our lives outside of ourselves, becoming focused more with appearances and opinions of others rather than answering any inner calling. Here we can be more focused on pleasing others, friends, family and neighbors than ever fulfilling our life purpose. Sometimes we are Blocked to Life Purpose because of a sense of fear caused by what some Sometimes, our purpose is associated with very upsetting events caused in this existence or as identified in some other existence that causes us to become afraid to follow our hearts. This sets us up to have inexplicable fears around following our purpose and passions. Other people may be chronically sad from being off their own purpose for extended periods of time and suffer with blocks to motivation to follow any path other than routine daily activities. Other people may not feel good enough or strong enough inside themselves to take the necessary risks towards their Life Purpose. Sometimes we need help to remove blocks so that we are freed to get back on our path. How I help those who come to me When working with others, I often find that teaching emotional release methods and using a combination of brief therapy tools including my own creation of Reimaging can be a key to helping folks begin work towards living out their Life Purpose. Reimaging is basically brief therapies sped up into fast guided imagery technique that clears multiple levels such as emotions and beliefs. Sometimes, hypnotherapy with regression is needed to find out the root cause of what holds someone back. Sometimes channeling clients’ guides in one way to help them to determine what is right for them. There are usually strong subconscious reasons, as well as practical reasons as to what keeps someone blocked from getting on their path. The School of Life Purpose I have found in my own experience and that of working with others that to follow and stick to one's life purpose is our challenge for growth in this school of life to rise above and clear our fears, learn to take risks, take rejection and to begin to embrace humility and rise to the challenge that life offers. I feel that everything we experience, is yet another challenge that contains the gift of growth. Our life purpose offers us the richest classroom to grow and at the same time gives us a sense of healthy fulfillment, inspiration and strong reasons to feel we fit in like a piece of the puzzle into all that is. This adds a great deal of meaning to life. From what I’ve seen, living out one’s life purpose is the answer to healthy self-esteem and many other forms of happiness, joy and fulfillment. From my own experiences of faltering on my own path, and later as I was helping others, I
noticed that the Life Purpose is in itself a developing pathway. If one chooses not to step onto it,
much may be missed in terms of life lessons as the classroom of life, potential friends, loves as
well as that deep sense of fulfillment and happiness that can only be met by doing what we are
passionate about. Many as I have seen begin to compensate for this vacuum created within
themselves and experience a loss of control over substances, of many different kinds
addictions such as food addictions, sexual addictions, entertainment addiction, and even
religious/spiritual addictions. For example, often times, overeating is more about just this kind My Own Experience of Overeating and Addiction In my twenties I had a burgeoning weight problem. The more I dieted the more I binged and I ended up gaining about 30 pounds from binging and dieting. I found before I developed my Whole Life Weight Loss Program that much of what I was eating over was a lack of fulfillment from not pursuing what my heart truly wanted to do with my life. I also suffered from entertainment addiction and constantly had to be talking to others, playing something on the radio, or watching TV. All the while, I was basically distracting myself from my true needs. In my loneliness, I pulled strongly on others to fill my emptiness. The Higher Agreements and the Life Purpose From what I’ve experienced with others and myself, I feel that the Life Purpose has usually been an agreement we made with our guide well before we even entered this life. Living out our Life Purpose along with fulfilling Karmic debt contains much of the classroom of life from which we experience and learn. We have the opportunity built into our Life Purpose to experience deep spiritual lessons to help us evolve further along the lines of great spiritual attributes such as more compassion and unconditional love. Following the Life Purpose is not only fulfilling, inspiring, a great source of happiness, creativity and fun---it can also be challenging, taking much self-discipline, and contains many tests and lessons we need to evolve. The Golden Circle and the Three Kinds of Life Purpose When I have sessions with people on life purpose, the way I sense or see it is that it is actually a golden circle of energy behind the heart area. Usually I can delineate (if there's not too much clouding it in the way of blocks) the percentages of various types of pursuits that would fulfill it. When I’ve done Life Purpose readings, The Life Purpose itself usually appears to be one of three
kinds: “Unified”, “Split” or “Creative”. Often each one of these types of Life Purpose has a
unifying central portion that is either business-oriented or more oriented towards teaching as a
means of expression of the Purpose in the physical world. In other words, I find that either Each of these life purposes has their own challenges for growth. The “Unified Life Purpose” for
example, can be met all in one field of endeavor yet the person may be called to take many The “Split Purpose” is usually seen as a Life Purpose that can be met in a couple of fields. One The Third type of Life Purpose seems to be the “Creative Life Purpose”. Here’s the Life Purpose may be met in "owning the shop" so to speak where one can contribute creative aspects in design, production, or creating the end product or service, as well as be involved in management and many other involvements it takes to own a shop. One person's Life Purpose whom I read, contained creative art work and business. It appeared that this calling could be met by owning their own New Age book store that featured not only their art but that of others’ art, as well along with the usual products for sale in such a store such as books etc. The different Life Purposes contain benefits and challenges that are unique to each. For Starting in little steps I encourage my clients to begin by taking little steps even if they can only start by reading about what they are passionate about. In time, they can often begin to take classes around their true Life Purpose and start to experience that joy and fulfillment that can only be found by following one’s path. Even if we can only begin our path in little ways, it’s fun to see how the blessings of the Universe to begin to work with us. Another gift of the Life Purpose is Universal support. I truly believe our guides and angels and the Universe itself begins to open up more in the sense of flow and synchronicity. If we have the courage and faith to risk to take the first steps, there is so much assistance around us to support our efforts. Life is often truly magical and beautiful when we finally resolve to take this higher road regardless of what may appear in front of us in the moment. Santosha Nobel, CHT. Tool in the Toolbox
There will always be challenges and situations that trigger our subconscious patterns and arouse powerful emotions. Subsequently, many healing modalities are geared toward releasing these energies. I’ve determined that many of these techniques affect only one or several levels of consciousness, and don’t always pull out the roots of the pattern. Therefore, I often utilize several methods when working with clients, and most healers have a sizeable toolbox from which to draw different techniques that suit each client best. I recently added Reimaging™ (which works on seven levels of consciousness) to my toolbox with great success. Naturally, I’ve used Reimaging™ for myself to measure its effectiveness, and have been very pleased with the results. Reimaging™ “is a hypno-imagery program developed by Santosha Nobel, that uses positive imagery and energetic release techniques to shift old patterns on seven levels of consciousness. It’s designed to help you rapidly change unwanted habits, tendencies, thought patterns, negative emotional states, and belief systems so that you can achieve a happier, more peaceful and productive lifestyle. This program is specifically constructed to help you deprogram negative patterns (comprised of emotions, beliefs, habit patterns and behaviors) and reprogram new ones. Reimaging™ addresses feelings, beliefs, personality parts, the subconscious mind, mental and physical habit patterns, and chakras.” I don’t know of any other modality that works on seven levels, and not just on the energy and issues of this lifetime, but past life karma, patterns, and trauma as well. That’s why it’s so effective with regards to issues such as relationships, fears and old karmic behavior patterns. It can also be used in combination with any other healing method. This program can help you “regain a peaceful state of mind in the midst of almost any life situation.” After having achieved some level of mastery with Reimaging™, I found myself in a frustrating situation in which I had no control. It triggered old karmic themes such as being prevented from speaking my truth. In this case it would’ve not served any purpose due to the current climate of the situation. Rather than hold anger, I sat in my car and started processing using Reimaging™. Within about ten or fifteen minutes I felt much more neutral. By the time I arrived home, I had let go completely and felt at peace with the situation. Needless to say, the method worked, and from then on I felt comfortable in introducing the program to friends and clients. Reimaging™ incorporates hypnosis, brief therapies (that help to identify and release old patterns and emotions), dream symbols, guided imagery (for example burning books or logs in a fire), positive suggestions, and frequencies and music. It can be combined with its audio program that merges sound and color frequency bands set to healing music, or used alone. The website is www.reimaging.com. In addition to using it with clients, I will be teaching Reimaging™ in workshops so others can learn this valuable method and enrich their healing journey. Christine A. Loter © 2004 Christine A.
